On: "Loving the Present"

We often neglect what's right in front of us. In our continual focus on what we're headed toward or moving away from, we sometimes tend to disdain the present.

I'm as prone to this as anyone. In my effort to hurry out of the "rat race" , I've been guilty of forsaking my "responsibility" while still in the rat race. For instance, I'll neglect upgrading my day job "tools" under the auspices of anticipating only another couple of years in the "trenches"... before my "entrepreneurial" endeavors complete their granting of "freedom" (now well underway).

I think this revolves around an eager, healthy anticipation of the fruition of the paths which choose us. But not to be forgotten is a healthy dose of gratitude.

Seeds of the Future

When you think about it, it's the present which "presents" us with the opportunities we move toward. Despite the surface appearances we might move away from or the problems we currently wrestle with, now is where the seeds of our envisioned future germinate.

Along with the active pursuit of our visions, these seeds of the future are also nurtured by simple, quiet gratitude.

An "active", loving contemplation of what lies before us... both the bounty and the seeming scarcity, contribute to the accelerated manifestation of our desire. This "activity" can also put your mind at ease.

Peace in the Now!

Rarely do problems exist in "the now". When "danger" and intense situations present themselves (as these may exist in modern society... not many lions and tigers and bears to worry about), instinct and adrenaline take over to resolve the issue.

Our perception of "problems" lie in our memory or anticipation relative to what's in front of us.

And consider "resolution" for a moment. When we're in "the flow", when the moment is "fluid", our situation is "solvent" and the "Sea of Being" lends its weight to each of us.

Participate in The Flow

I'm finding that it helps to keep the so-called separate compartments of my day flowing into each other. If you have a job like mine, you can access the internet and do some of your online work at your day job... unless you really need a whole hour for lunch.

And when you're home and the weekend is winding down, it won't hurt to log into the web mail of your day job and get a jump on some of the routine tasks which you know can bog down your work day.

Write your newsletter articles when you have a spare moment on the commuter train and perhaps you'll have a bit more time to devote to spouse and family.

It's when, like Medusa the Gorgon, we "harden" or concretize the ever-fluid moment that we find ourselves in situations which need "re-solution". Thus, being "hard-headed" can lend itself to creation of our so-called problems.

To augment flow, auto-genically relax (when you've practiced the techique for a while, this only takes seconds. Subscribers can find the complete autogenic technique here), summon your most "profound" state at every opportunity -- and be grateful.

Healthy doses of gratitude for where we find ourselves (despite appearances) and for what is to come, help to keep the moment fluid.

"Problems" tend to "resolve" themselves. And joyous moments easily and powerfully flow into our present.

After our last issue, one of our readers sent an email regarding "humanity" and it's "dire need of restructuring, of our politics, morals and the way we operate in general. Is there any way that we can radically change the way the world thinks before it is too late?"

I assured her that I had no definitive answers to such "big" questions. However I did what I could to assure her that were we each to individually do what we could to accelerate our own personal development and growth, "things" could only get better.

I then remembered one of the original internet self improvers / personal developers who has inspired me for years.

Peter Russell has been asking, and attempting to answer the big questions for some time. And although this material wasn't written yesterday, I feel he still offers timely and entertaining reading which I recommend to anyone.

Check out "Waking Up In Time" (and any other works by this man... most of which are offered for free!).

I'm sure there is something here for everyone.

And thank you Julie.
