Article: On Knowing

To know, you will have to change. Like the serpent promised in the garden,"... you will be wise as gods, knowing good from evil". The deeper knowledge can’t be contained in the reasoning faculties alone. It has to be embodied.

Knowing deep enough will alter your being.

I'm reminded of discussions in technology reviews with Erik Davis, author of "Tech-gnosis", where he warns of mechanizing our pursuits of spirituality. While I appreciate the sentiment, what could also be going on is an extension of what is "embodied".

Esoteric astrology looks to phases of the moon in determining the energy quality available at a particular time. To identify with these cycles and interact with them isn't necessarily "mechanizing" spirituality as it is embodying the local cosmos. This is the beginning of personal growth of the highest order.

When viewed from a distance, as photographed from satellites launched into deep space, our Sun is a very insignificant speck of cosmic light.

A closer look reveals that our local, average sized, G2 Star (Sol), becomes even more noticeable but you can't tell that it's surrounded by planets (except, perhaps by its "wobble"). So the orbiting planets are essentially part of the "glory" of the Sun... indistinguishable from it's effulgence. Upon really close observation, planets seem as dust when distinguishable at all. And yet, the mathematical harmony that pervades the relationships between them are ubiquitous. For instance, the 3rd planet and its orbiting moon are purported to hold keys to higher being when used as a guide to meditation timing... and still we are engulfed in a beam of light when seen from enough of a distance.

Mentally transpose distance into depth, then imagine that light-years within us there is an origin of All. Through innumerable collectors and re-transmitters of the original "energy", star systems create and sustain our experience.

The closer to Earth's surface we come, the more "superficial" (and hence, recognizable) our experience. By the time we encounter the lunar threshold, we are well within the influence of the other planets. Earth's atmosphere is as culture and language.

Breathing communicates. The surface of our sensory experience is as superficial as it gets... the result of all influences, whether recognized or not. Let's con-spire.

The infinity we perceive as the Universe is a reflection of what we are. The surface of our experience reflects the influence of our depths. How much do we let through... shine?

I need you to see, my friend... "Those who have seen, know."

How can we possibly deny that there is gloriously more to us than meets the blinded eye. And the blindness isn't of the eye. Studies on the "newly sighted" show that though the eye works fine, vision still has to be learned. The shadows and brightness have to be interpreted. Its work learning to see, ya' see. It takes more than merely an eye receiving pulses of light.

Consider the complex interactions involved in hitting or catching a baseball fired toward you at 90 mph. No time to think there. Seeing in this case had better activate your glove hand, bat or your ducking instincts.

Analogous to this is learning to know. It's not just for the reasoning intellect alone. Pattern recognition, emotions and instincts play roles.

Higher Self Improvement Pursuits are efforts to make such knowing a part of our daily lives. We each create our own adventure.

Review: How to Get Lots of Money for Anything - Fast

For 30 years I've studied topics from esoteric philosophy to quantum physics... psychology to hyper-dimensional mathematics and the relation of all this to personal growth, self improvement and the science of achievement. Then along comes Stuart Lichtman who distills so many of these disciplines into a couple of three step processes which unite the whole brain for practically magical manifestation of any goal or desire.

In fact, the almost instant achievement of goals to me, is secondary to the method which harmonizes our conscious with our subconscious psychological aspects.

The book is titled "How to Get Lots of Money for Anything - Fast", a title I "blame" on Lichtman's association with the web's truly "outrageous marketer" and author of Spiritual Marketing, Joe Vitale. Lichtman, an MIT psychologist and engineer (my kind of combination), sought out the best marketer he could find to help take this book to the public. But don't let the "hypie" title turn you away. I have found this to be an excellent book.

Lichtman actually developed pattern recognition techniques to create imaginary 15 dimensional "hyperspaces" for an Artificial Intelligence application in which "people with similar unconscious personalities would cluster together". But don't worry if none of that makes sense, it isn't what you learn in this book.

In "How to Get Lots of Money for Anything - Fast", Lichtman demonstrates, explains and teaches you the "Cybernetic Transposition" technique. What Cybernetic Transposition does is "empower your mind to use one success - any success - that you have experienced, and transpose (or transform) that first success into... the foundation for a success in another area".

These techniques aren't new (is anything under the Sun?), but here they are adeptly stung together into a process that does what it claims... "putting [you] consciously in charge by creating effective communication between your conscious and unconscious minds".

After thorough visualization rehash, Stuart Lichtman leads you through a guided "meditation" which results in what he calls a "Biofeedback Trigger" or Inner Anchor Point. This becomes the empowering center from which the subconscious mind "prioritizes" your desires. To top it off, you are engaged in an extensive (yet quick and simple) process which removes all unconscious "blockers" leaving you free to zero in on any desired outcome. This last piece reminded me of the Core Transformation process which I've been a raving fan of for years.

Through embracing and welcoming any "unwholesome" aspect of ourselves (which Lichtman calls "blockers"), rather than fighting against them as we've done for so long, these aspect "reveal" what they always sought FOR US and actually become allies.

The combination of all these pieces into a smooth, natural achievement technique is excellently presented in this book with the "hypie" title. Along with the loads of unadvertised bonuses, this easy reading, medium sized e-book (225 pages) is easy to recommend.

Business As Usual

Pop ups and self improvement? Where's the connection? Composure!

It's just that I'm in an online business. I manage and edit a web site along with publishing a newsletter. For a few hours a week, I'm at the computer and online.

It is rewarding and sends you pursuit for the best within yourself for the sake of your readers. I recommend this pursuit to anyone looking for higher self improvement. (Click here for the simplest, most empowering method available today). But pop ups will "test" one's composure.

Here's how to stop Messenger pop-up junk mail...

One way is to buy some software for about thirty dollars. However, you don't need to do that. Instead, just disable Messenger.

These 4 easy steps will turn off the messenger service used to send messenger service popup ads. The Messenger service is not related to Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger.:

1. Go to Start, then Run and type in services.msc Click Ok

2. Scroll to Messenger, select it, right click it and choose Properties.

3. Under startup choose "Disabled", then choose Stop.

4. When stopped, click Ok.

(I've tested these instructions on a PC with Windows XP.)

Good luck!

A bit of news: The Double Helix's 50th Anniversary Bash: A Party With a Twist

Last night a party at the Library of Congress was held last night. The party was dubbed "The Helix and the Genome", marking the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the DNA double helix by James Watson and Francis Crick, and this month's completion of the sequencing of the human genome.

"Look at the paper: We're going to find Saddam Hussein because we have his DNA," said National Cancer Institute Director Andrew von Eschenbach. "The point is that in 50 years we have moved from the mystery of DNA to the real application of that scientific breakthrough: to improve our health, or use it to identify bad guys."

"This is the greatest human adventure of all time," said National Institutes of Health Director Elias Zerhouni. "Eventually, the real frontier is to use this knowledge to prevent disease. The question is, 'How can you live your life to the fullest?' "

The black-tie dinner for 490 was given by the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health and supported by a who's who of pharmaceutical companies.

In attendance were some of the leading scientists in the world, among them Watson and fellow Nobel laureates Marshall Nirenberg, David Baltimore, Stanley Cohen and Wally Gilbert. Crick was unable to attend for health reasons.

"These are the scientists who breathe discovery and curiosity for understanding the universe... out-of-box thinkers whose achievements withstand the test of time."

Watson's co-discovery of the double helix, for which he won the 1962 Nobel Prize, led to splicing of DNA segments, gene cloning and DNA sequencing -- biotechnology. Sequencing the genome has transformed medicine by breaking the code of the human gene, which will allow scientists to identify, prevent, diagnose and treat diseases in entirely new ways.

"We can figure out my glitches and your glitches," said one scientist. We now know that 99.9 percent of any individual's DNA is the same as anyone else's. The trick is figuring out what that final tenth of a percent means.

"Our goal," said another researcher "is to make it possible for people to die as young as possible as late in life as possible."
